Aftercare, Education, and Mentorship for Youth in the Juvenile Justice System
About Us
our story
Scholastic Interest Group organization is comprised of returning citizens, credible messengers and volunteers that can relate directly to the struggle of incarcerated youth. Many of the volunteers that work for SIG have served decades in prison and have gone on to become scholars and earn Masters Degrees in the fields of sociology and psychology. But most importantly they understand human nature and their lived experiences help them mentor and guide youth to change their mindsets so that the youth can make better decisions once they are released.
